Catalan Cork Institute (ICSURO) was created in 1991 by the Catalan Government to organize the strategies of the cork sector. The functions of ICSuro are: To stimulate the development of the sector through technical divulgation and assessment. To contribute to research and knowledge
of the Spanish cork sector through carrying out studies concerning its forests, the technology of transformation, new products, new markets, etc. To define and present proposals for action to the relevant public bodies.
