Contributing to Sustainable Agriculture: SureNexus at Zamorano University
On November 18, 2023, the SureNexus project will be represented at the Zamorano Investiga conference at Zamorano University, Morazán, Honduras. During this event, a poster presentation will showcase how the project is driving innovative solutions to tackle sustainability challenges in agriculture.
The SureNexus project focuses on integrating food, water, and energy systems, with a particular emphasis on promoting regenerative agriculture, water circularity, and resource efficiency. At Zamorano, the presentation will highlight practical approaches developed under the NEXUS framework, aiming to enhance agricultural productivity while preserving ecosystems.
Key topics of the presentation will include strategies to leverage non-conventional water sources like rainwater and greywater for irrigation, along with the development of nature-based solutions. By showcasing these initiatives, the project contributes to shaping the future of sustainable farming, aligning with Zamorano University’s vision of empowering rural communities in Honduras and across Latin America.
The poster presentation will serve as an opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore synergies, and foster collaborations between local stakeholders and international experts. SureNexus continues to translate conceptual ideas into hands-on practices that can benefit farmers, protect natural resources, and mitigate the impacts of climate change on agriculture.
