Exploring the Circular Bioeconomy and WEFE Nexus: SureNexus at Vilafranca del Penedès
On November 28, 2023, SureNexus partners ICSuro and CREDA will participate in the event “Circular Bioeconomy and the Water-Food-Energy and Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus,” organized by IRTA, UPC, CREDA, ICSuro, and Cátedra UNESCO in Vilafranca del Penedès, Catalonia. This gathering will focus on sharing experiences and innovations that link circular economy principles with the WEFE Nexus approach.
ICSuro and CREDA will present insights from the SureNexus project, highlighting practical applications of circular bioeconomy strategies that contribute to sustainability in rural areas. Their presentations will focus on how SureNexus integrates the sustainable management of water, food, energy, and ecosystems, promoting resource efficiency and climate resilience.
By showcasing examples from the project, they will emphasize how circular economy practices, such as recycling and reusing resources in agriculture and food production, can address the challenges of resource scarcity and environmental degradation. This event will offer a platform for exchanging knowledge and best practices, while demonstrating the role of innovation in building resilient, sustainable systems through the WEFE Nexus framework.
