Exploring the Science of the WEFE Nexus: Researchers’ Night 2023 in Athens
On Friday, September 30, 2022, SureNexus project was presented at the Researcher’s Night in Athens, by our partner National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). At the Sanitary Engineering Laboratory booth, SureNexus was on display along with the projects HYDROUSA, Forward Water, CIRC4FooD, Fit4Reuse, and AccelWater. The Sanitary Engineering Laboratory researchers explained the projects to the visitors, informed them about objectives and results, and answered their questions.
The Researcher’s Night was held at the Historical Complex of the National Technical University of Athens, at the center of the city. More than 15,000 visitors toured the 150 virtual, interactive, and demonstration laboratories of the results of advanced research and innovation produced by all the Universities and Research Centers of Attica, all the Schools of NTUA and many interdisciplinary consortia, with the help of hundreds of volunteers.
Every year, more than three million visitors in 30 countries in more than 400 European cities participate in the Researcher’s Night, an initiative of the European Commission with the aim of familiarizing the public with the world of Research.
The Researcher’s Night aims at the future: the transition of research to society with young people as protagonists, the creation of jobs for highly qualified scientific staff, the reversal of the brain-drain, the support of young entrepreneurship, as well as start-ups innovation in the real economy.
