Rachid Mrabet Participates in High-Level Environmental Round Table at the 16th Environment Week
As part of the 16th Edition of the Week for the Environment, held from June 17 to 21, 2025, at the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, Mr. Rachid Mrabet, Director of Research at INRA-Rabat, took part in a prestigious round table focused on sustainable environmental practices and green development in Morocco.
The round table, held on Tuesday, June 17, was moderated by Mohammed Sahabi, Vice President of Chouaib Doukkali University. It brought together key experts and policymakers, including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, leading universities, and OCP Group. Mr. Mrabet contributed his scientific expertise and research-driven insights on sustainable agriculture and climate resilience.
The session was part of the official opening day and followed the inaugural presentation from the representative of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, who unveiled the “Palm Grove Conservation Program of Marrakech.”
Mr. Mrabet’s intervention emphasized the importance of integrating research-based solutions into public policy, particularly in the context of agriculture, water conservation, and combating desertification. His remarks aligned with the broader goals of the weeklong initiative: raising awareness, promoting sustainable urban practices, and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration.
The presence of Mr. Mrabet at this significant environmental event underlines INRA’s commitment to environmental stewardship and its role in shaping evidence-based ecological solutions for Morocco’s future.
The Week for the Environment concluded with a variety of impactful activities, including community sensitization campaigns, urban beautification projects, and a beach clean-up day. The closing ceremony on June 21 also paid tribute to the distinguished environmental advocate Mustapha Jmahri.
