SureNexus Unites in Barcelona for the 1st Face-to-Face Meeting!
The First Presential meeting of the SureNexus project, was held in in Barcelona and Terrassa on February 14-15th, 2023. The meeting provided a wonderful opportunity to meet with all the consortium members, for the first time in person, and interchange ideas concerning the project. Coordination, tasks management, deliverables and Demo Sites, were among the discussion topics.
The two meeting days were full of activities but there were several highlights to be noted!
Day 1 (14 February 2023, UPC Terrassa Campus)
- The first day took place at the UPC Terrassa campus, an incredible historical building.
- Lluís Gil – Deputy Director of Business and Research – ESEIAAT UPC welcomed the SureNexus consortium along with the Project Coordinator, Jordi Morato (UPC).
- SureNexus Project Officer Ali Rhouma opened the meeting, representing the PRIMA programme.
- The workshop on Enabling Factors / Accelerators and Barriers, led by Ibtisem Taghoudi (CREDA) was the ideal ice-breaker to get all partners to know each other and work together.
- The World Cafe on Solutions and Actions also led by Ibtisem Taghoudi (CREDA) closed the day, along with a plenary debate that captured the messages from each working group.
Day 2 (15-2-2023, UPC North Campus, Barcelona)
- The day started with presentations of the 4 Demonstration Sites, by the DS leaders. It was great to see the details and updated information on all the systems!
- All partners discussed the SureNexus modeling, a core part of the SureNexus project, that will cover the whole WEFE nexus including the Built environment factor.
- UPC presented the mapping of Bioeconomy Solutions (BES) and Nature-based Solutions (NBS) that was conducted among the project partners.
- The MCA methodology that is being developed by NTUA and UNIVPM for the participatory selection of BES/NBS Best Practices for each Demonstration Site was presented by Alexandra Tsatsou (NTUA).
- The project Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation plans and activities were presented by NTUA (Alexandra Tsatsou and Tadej Stepisnik)
- The SureNexus Stakeholder Platform and the Knowledge Brokerage Activities were presented by INRA (Rachid Mrabet)
The first in-person consortium meeting was concluded with a plenary open discussion led by Jordi Morato, which ended up with a detailed action plan for the next years of the project.
